Rhode Island State Elevator Testing
The State of Rhode Island requires that all elevators be inspected annually. Additionally, all hydraulic elevators must comply
with a three year static load test while all traction elevators must undergo a five year full load weight test.
Here at Stanley Elevator we will track the annual anniversary of your elevator’s test date. When required, we will perform your test.
All testing is performed by our trained mechanics who are licensed by the state of Rhode Island. Once the test is conducted, the required
paperwork is filed with the State, which will then invoice the building owner. When the fees are paid, the elevator certificate is mailed
directly to the owner and the elevator is in compliance for another year.
In the event that safety violations exist, the state will not issue certificates until they have been informed by the elevator company
that all necessary repairs have been completed. This must take place within thirty days. Should any elevator be deemed unsafe to the
extent that a life safety situation exists, the elevator in question may be shut down until repaired.
Overtime testing services are not offered in the State of Rhode Island.
