New Hampshire State Elevator Testing
The state of New Hampshire requires that every elevator, chair lift, escalator, sidewalk lift, and dumbwaiter be tested annually by
a licensed inspector for compliance with the elevator code. Every lift is registered with the state with a state number and if the unit
is not tested as required a fine is issued by the State. Stanley Elevator is here to assure that your lift is tested on time and is in
compliance with the applicable code.
As a customer of Stanley Elevator your annual state test is included in your service contract, unless otherwise stated. The test month
of the elevator is based on the month of the original installation. It is the responsibility of the owner to have the unit inspected.
Each month we track what elevators are required to be state tested with our Service History System. Our mechanics hold a New Hampshire
State Inspectors license and act as agents of the state. Once the test is completed, Stanley Elevator handles all the paperwork with the
state so you do not have to. The state invoices you directly for the state certificate.
As of 2008 it is required that smoke detector operation be tested on any elevator so equipped. In order for this test to be completed
it is required that either an electrician or fire alarm company be on site to work with Stanley Elevator to perform the test. Stanley
Elevator will call you to make these arrangements for a time that is convenient for you.
Please note that the smoke detector and the required five year full load test are not included in your service contract.
As a service to our customers who cannot have their elevator tested during normal business hours, we can provide an estimate to
perform all testing on overtime.
If a unit fails the state test Stanley Elevator will provide a list of violations along with recommendations for repairs. If your
contract covers the repairs, the work with be scheduled and performed. If you do not have a contract that covers repairs, necessary
work will be proposed to you for approval by us. We have qualified technicians who can make repairs on our equipment and on equipment
from other manufacturers. We are your source for high quality elevator repairs.
If necessary the work will be proposed to you for approval for Stanley Elevators repair department to make
the necessary repairs.
